I always favor the truth. However, keep in mind that if the child turns out not to be yours, that may forever negatively impact your relationship with said child. On the other hand, the child deserves to know.

I have a friend who found out AFTER her parents had died that she was not related in any way to her father. She doesn't know if she is the result of infertility treatment with sperm donation or the result of an unknown affair by her mother. It is unlikely she will ever know since family members have no clue. In the days when she would have been conceived, anybody going through sperm donation was very hush hush about it. Since IUI procedure is done in a doctor's office and not a hospital, there are no records either.

Source(s): This is an accredited lab. $79 if the mother cooperates. About $200 if she doesn't. www.gtldna.net/DNATest

i guess you could do a DNA test, or a paternity test as its called... but i dont know if just anyone could do it, plus it might be expensive? good luck though, i hope it all works out!
