one meal a day????????

i know you'll think im trying to lose weight BUT IM NOT, if anything id love to gain weight but i cant afford to eat alot most of the time..im 21 male approx 10 stone and living on my own,im pretty slim but i keep hearing that 'starvation mode' will help gain weight, so will i get fatter from eating less? i stopped lifting weights because there wont be anythng to eat after...this only happens when my food runs out which can last about 5 or 4 days without money but scraps in cupboards which arent even worth eating...so will this help me actually gain weight?

Update:

yes i do have a very high metabolism but i hate it

Update 2:

That's a tough one. For some people they gain, and others lose. It depends on your body metabolism

But what I would suggest is to buy healthy snacks (not that hard to afford) that are full of nutrients. Like eat the way your regularly eat but then buy a jar of peanut butter or nutella and just keep eating from the jar. I am sure that will help you gain a few pounds or so :)

    good luck!

Can't you go to a food bank to get food. I have heard if you starve yourself your body store fat and you gain weight. If that is the case how do people with anorexia and people with bulimia keep the weight off. They don't all puke it up. In April I was stressed out and stopped eating and lost between 23 and 25 pounds within 3-4 weeks. I suggest you eat food with high caloric intake and build muscle and toning up I think would be a good thing

no everybody's body works different you probably just have a really high metabolism, so don't do it. if you want to gain weight you should talk to a nutritionist.

Try protein shakes. don't starve yourself thats bad for your health. And try eating some carbs pasta with vegetables to keep it moderately healthy.
