No, Christianity is based upon the person of Jesus of Nazareth who is the Christ. christianity is not based upon a book that would be the recent protestant tradition of christianity. which is not the historical church. the historical church did not adhere to "sola Scripture". to the early church, the old testament was not seen as the word of God, rather a history of the people of God (the hebrews) and their prophets. the new testament, didn't even exist before the church. the church compiled the new testament 300 years after the church was formed by Christ and the apostles. Christianity is not merely a set of beliefs or doctrines, christianity is a life style, a culture. it is a path towards the likeness of Christ.

as for the creation of the universe, God is not the sky God of western modernism. the universe is not the result of a watchmaker. the functions and ways of the universe is a mystery as also God is a mystery. the historical church do not have systematic understanding of God and the universe. the only thing the historic church holds is that God is the creator of the universe, and holds all things into being.
