What does it feel like when your team wins a championship?

I was watching the NBA finals and I was wondering how the true fans of their teams felt when their team won. I live in the DC area so none of my teams are good and are even close to championship contention, so I have no idea how it feels. Can someone who has experienced it describe the feeling? I have been a New York Giants, Mets, Knicks, and NY Rangers fan since I was young. My two championships came with the Giants in 07 and last year. Let me just say that when you win the championships, it is a surreal moment. As soon as the game was basically finished and Eli was taking a knee with 1 minute left, I was literally jumping around and screaming. As soon as it was official, I opened up my window and screamed NEW YORK GIANTS and people responded in other apartment buildings with the same response. Next, I went to all of my neighbors who were Giants fans and started screaming with them. I made a few calls to friends who I knew were watching the game (including a patriots fan). But afterwords it kind of calmed down. I was still psyched but not at the same level that I was at. I watched the post-game show and then another hour of sports tv talking about the Giants and then I relaxed and went to sleep since I was still recovering from pneumonia (yes I went this crazy while still being sick). There is nothing more amazing then winning a championship.

When my Rockets won in 93-94 and 94-95 it was amazing. The first championship against the Knicks was sweet because of the Hakeem/Ewing rivalry. It was simply stated, euphoric. Seeing Hakeem spin and juke and drop the ball in the hoop time and time again was absolutely amazing. The progression from seeing the hardships with his injury in 91 and falling out that same year, and then the characters that were slowly assembled like Mario Elie and Vernon Maxwell playing huge roles...you just fell in love with the team. Thorpe was amazing and it was just totally awesome seeing them win a ring. And the next year coming from the 6th seed and playing the 1, 2, and 3 seeds and pulling it out, and then going against Shaq in the finals...if you didn't see Hakeem you missed a true great. He would make today's All-Star centers look like college back-ups.

You need to invest in one team alone. Dividing your loyalties will make the championships much less sweet. Going through their hardships and good times, tis the life of a die hard.

Words can't really describe how awesome and special it feels. I'm from South Florida so I root for the Dolphins and the Heat. When Miami won it was amazing! You feel happy you never gave up on your team and stuck with them through good and bad.

That's how it's going to work for the Dolphins and me. Their record sucks but they'll get better one day. I'm going to continue to root for them no matter what.

My whole family was just cheering with joy and hugging. We stuck with Miami for the longest time and were happy when D-Wade got drafted there. 3 years later we still stuck by them and got to experience them winning the Title in 2006. Now they're the 2012 champs and it feels awesome.

Watching the speech when Lebron infamously said where he was takin his talents to, I guarantee the household of all Miami fans exploded with happiness. We were finally going to get somewhere and have another shot at winning.

It was amazing when the packers won. It was great that they won obviously. But it was also nice for Aaron Rodgers to finally get out of Favre's shadow and prove himself. It was such a happy day and then when the next season comes you forget what it's like to lose. And lose a playoff game and believe me. That's a horrible feeling. But for that moment when they win it. It's incredible.

I'm a Colts fan & it felt awesome when we beat the Bears in Super Bowl XLI in Miami after the 2006 season & really sucked when we lost to the Saints in Super Bowl XLIV in 2010

Its like asking how many licks it will take to get to the center of a tootsie pop. The world may never know.
