Problems sending email from AOL to ntlworld?

I have a riend in England with an ntlworld.com email address. I use my AOL email to write to her, but more often than not, she doesn't get the emails a all. Once in a blue moon they go through. Does anybody have any idea what/where the problem may be? Thanks

    I have used AOL for 17 years and have 7 screen names and e-mail addresses and I have never had any trouble sending e-mail to anyone.
