were the doctors right in doing this?

a year and a half ago i had a perforated ulcer 2" in diameter . doctors operated on it and took out 20% of my stomach. why did they take out so much when all they had to do was sew it up (2") it was NOT cancer , i feel worse than ever :(

    Hi Martina. sorry i am not sure Obviously the powers to be namely the doctors felt it was necessary to remove. The problem with ulcers they can grow and you could have been in more danger,
