What did God mean by these verses concerning Israel?

“Listen, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel. Should you not embrace justice, you who hate Good and love evil; who tear the skin from my people and the flesh from their bones; who eat my people’s flesh, strip off their skin and break their bones in pieces; who chop them up like meat for the pan, like flesh for the pot? Then they will cry out to the Lord, but he will not answer them. At that time he will hide his face from them because of the evil they have done.” Micah 3:1-4 "Therefore Israel will be abandoned until the time when she who is in labor bears a son, and the rest of his brothers return to join the Israelites." Micah 5:3

Update:

@arilou Micah 5:2 reads "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” But it's a good one to include.

Update 2:

@arilou, you are right, for some reason the KJV Micah 5:1 is Micah 4:14 in the Tanahk, there is not a Micah 4:14 in KJV. Understandable since it was orginally written without chapters nor verses. To me it sounds like a messianic prophecy.

I think it is against the leaders of Israel, especially those spiritual leaders, as the people put their trust more in their rabbis then the Lord God. and who like Jesus said, despised the people for not keeping the commandments but did not keep them themselves either. Therefore the Lord turns away from them, until Christ appears, and as Paul mentions when the fullness of the gentiles has come in the Lord Will return to His people the Jews, we can see that happening today. where Israel is very much in the news and blessed by the Lord God as He has returned them to their former estate.

the prophecy in Micah 3:1-4 is addressed at the leaders of Israel.

he starts with a general accusation of the leaders for not doing justice, and then compares the leaders as if they were feeding on the flesh of the people.

the leaders are accused of the injustice of the people and the poverty it is in.

he finishes that if the leaders will call god to help them, god will ignore them.

Micah 5:2 (you quoted verse # 2) it's a part of the prophecy which starts at chapter 4. this time it refers to salvation, and just like giving birth to a child it will be a painful process. then everyone shall return to israel.

@Micardav, according to the hebrew bible i have you are still wrong. Micah 5:1 is "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times"

perhaps in your english translation someone screwed the chapters and verses.

The leaders of Judah were wicked in the days of Micah and he is declaring against them. Then he finishes by saying that since they have ignored the Lord for so long, He will ignore them for a while when they are being persecuted and smitten. The last piece refers to the coming of Christ to bring his law and gospel to Judah. Then there is a brief reference to the return of the lost tribes which won't happen until the second coming of Christ. The Jewish people continue to suffer until then when they will finally begin to recognize their Messiah for who He really is.

The Lord chastises his people in order to correct them. He does that because He cares about them, as He does all of us. If He didn't care, He wouldn't bother to chastise them.

That's god for you. Leaving behind X holy books of a zillion pages and not a hint of what he actually meant, leaving it open to billions of interpretations.

These verses are talking about modern Zionist Jews. There are many other verses that predict that Jew will become evil in end times.
