why AC adapters are not marked?

Many electronic items are powered by batteries or an AC to DC adapter. Only a very few have markings identifying them as to the item they came with. Why is it not possible for manufacturers to label the adapters, so the consumer can tell at a glance what it goes to?

Because many buy off-the-shell adapters from OEM adapter manufacturers, sometimes sealed in a packing box. It will cost labels and labor to print and label adapters.

If I need to, I usually label adapters myself, as I get them, if they are for a specific item.

The manufacturers don't need to identify what device they power. It's your responsibility to take control of your possessions and keep things in check.

most of the time, device manufacturers don't even manufacture the external power supply, rather they order it to be packaged with their item, then ship it out.
