It's because they're probably too lazy to lose weight.
Women with health issues who gain weight strive to lose it if they can.
Women who get like that from self negligence always try to justify it.
Logically, people want to be thin because being over weight (chubby) isn't always healthy.
Of course, being chubby doesn't always mean overweight either.
This is a general observation and my opinion.
There are some undefinable differences in thinking with people who don't account for the majority.

It's not that being chubby is good. It's just that people have learnt to accept themselves for who they are, which depending on your viewpoint, is either a good or bad thing.
