Is it safe to eat 1,200 calories per day - plus burn 400 calories per day?

I'm a Female, 142 pounds, 5 feet 2 inches tall.. I want to lose about 35 pounds. I've been told to lose weight the best thing to do is to consume around 1,200 calories daily. Would it be safe for me to do that plus burn 400 calories on my treadmill 5 times a week.

For the time period it takes you to loose the weight, yes it is safe if you get all the nutrients you need. The body is very resilient.

You need to take a vitamin though. It's hard to fit in all the nutrients you need on a 1200 calorie a day diet. I was doing this and I started to get chest pains, feeling fatigued, getting dizzy and getting a constant headache. Turns out I didn't have enough iron in my diet because I cut out high calorie red meat and don't eat many grains fortified with iron. Two days after taking vitamins my problems started to disappear and I felt much better.

Your technically supposed to eat 1200 net calories so that means if you burn 400 you would actually eat 1600. However, I think it would be save to eat 1200 and burn 400 as long as you are eating nutritious foods.

if ur going to consume 1200 and burn 400 its better if u consume 1600 and burn 400 that way u will remain 1200 calorie intake. Its good if u consume 166 that way ur body wont thinkk its starving

do it and see how you feel and how your weight goes.

i think it's too much exercise for a 1200cal diet.

i followed a plan by a nutritional expert who said a low cal diet with the additional stress of too much activity can actually yeild less weight loss than a low cal diet and NO exercise at all.

i did 1400cals and 90mins of light strength exercise per week to lose weight. that was his recommendation(for me at my size).

Yea thats fine but look for healthier food too bc a higher fat content is harder to burn off as well
