Other than democrats wrote it, Do republicans have anything against the health care reform?

Obamacare obviously isn't anywhere near as bad as republicans claim it is. You can tell because republicans don't debate the merits of the bill, they just debate made up lies. If republicans were pointing out actual points in the bill, then there might be something wrong with it. This "it is socialism" argument shows that they don't think they have any real ammo against the bill.

What do you suppose that republicans actually have against health care reform, other than democrats wrote it?

The mandate, even as a tax, set a dangerous precedent today. It was the very first time in this country a nationwide tax has been levied for not purchasing a private service. It's constitutional as of today, but that doesn't make it right.

I'm not a Republican and this isn't about partisan politics. A lot of the worst ideas in the reform that was passed were in there as a Democrat compromise with Republicans. Republicans and Democrats both wrote the bill. It's said that the liberals are choosing to make this about winning points in some kind of game. This is law that affects real people.

And to be honest, there is a growing class of people in this country that is getting sick and tired of being hurt over the games Republicans and Democrats play with each other.

Compromise! Obama needs to shove the bill down everybodys throats, his way or the line, however the way he's doing it, would not take a seat properly with the yank people and that they are resisting. Panic passing of the bill will harm Democrats in the long-term. some are asserting Conservatism is lifeless, yet those asserting that have not been around that long. The democrats attempt at gutting what we've and changing it with some thing completely new at one in each of those super rate to all people isn't the final way. yet you attempt to sneak it by utilising and shove it down our throats. The President tells us to get out of how and permit him restoration the mess. he's pissed off, via fact it wasn't as ordinary as he claimed. yet then the left are like toddlers wanting what they desire. a larger recommendations-set may be to debate it and paintings out the specifics. The left, throwing tantrums, says that isn't quickly sufficient, whine and attack the final. So the final has to dig in, via fact the left won't hear to reason, so now the President is at political war with the people.

My biggest issue: is the tweeners. Those that don't currently qualify for Medicaid, or have a full-time job that pays health insurance.

The Obama plan is going to make the average guy in the tweener position give up and accept Medicaid instead of working harder to build a better life for him and his family.

    And for what?

An Obama Presidential vote in 2012.

Ten years from now Obama will be a distant memory but that average guy is still going to be on Medicaid.

The legislation was written by health care professionals, financial planners, economists, lawyers, insurance professionals. Congress members dont write bills. The lobbyists and their clients do that. Each member has a staff of 50 people who do the research. Ever notice on CSpan how a Congress person has to read his statements. Thats because they dont know whats in it until they read it on TV.

Do you like the idea that the government can TAX YOU for health care. That is precisely what this is and the full impact of it has yet to be felt. If it's so great, why did the Democrats that supported it not have it take effect immediately? Why wait until 2014?

No one can debate the merits because it's almost 3000 pages long. Kinda hard to distinguish between the good and the bad.

    1. Democrats did NOT write it. It was authored by health insurance lobbyists.

    2. We oppose it because of the mandate and it's cost.

    3. You should probably educate yourself about this bill before you spew your uninformed rants.

    4. Oh, and the other thing we oppose is that nobody read the f*cking thing before they voted for it.

Not a Republican, but an Independant....

Being forced to buy something I dont want, and to also being forced pay for others isnt what I call fair.

Why should I be forced to help someone who made bad choices in life, doesnt want to help themselves, doesnt work hard, etc.... When I work hard, think out my decisions, dont smoke, drink or do drugs etc.

Unfair, I should be forced to choose what I pay for and who I want to help.
