How is taking fiscal responsibilty for your own health care through insurance a tax on the middle class?
What the Supremes said was a tax is the $200 fine you pay if you don't do it. The cost of health insurance is just a sensible thing you do because you never know when you'll get a really expensive medical problem and spreading the risk over your life and over the population is the best way to keep money to cover those costs. That seems to me like all of the GOP talking points rolled into one: taking responsibility for yourself, putting the cost on the people who get the benefit, etc. Otherwise, if you go around uninsured, you're depending on the charity of the hospitals and doctors if you get in a car wreck, come down with a serious illness or disease, or fall and break your back. That seems like the ultimate act of irresponsible behavior.

There are people out there who work that cannot afford insurance.
How is imposing a tax on people who already can't afford it going to help them? If you can't afford health insurance then how the hell are you going to be able to afford the tax?

First of all the main cause of the high cost of health care is health insurance. The cost of health care is lower if you have insurance, higher if you don't. The health insurance companies make money, the doctors and hospitals make money. The cost for a family plan is around 5or 6 hundred dollars a month so if you do not foresee spending between 6 or 7 thousand dollars a year on health coverage it makes no sense to have the insurance. The plan should have been to make Health Care affordable by doing away with Health Insurance except for catastrophic plans. The cost of normal Doctor visits and Lab work would fall to where most people could afford it anyway, One again the politicians in the Zealous need to make more people dependent on Government have screwed the American Tax payer.

There are 21 NEW or INCREASED TAXES in Obamacare. The Court’s ruling leaves in place those 21 new or increased taxes, costing more than $675 billion over the next 10 years, according to the House Ways and Means Committee. Of those, 12 tax hikes would affect families earning less than $250,000 per year, the panel said, including a “Cadillac tax” on high-cost insurance plans, a tax on insurance providers, and an excise tax on medical device manufacturers.

1) Cost of insurance has risen since 0bamacare was passed. In California, some insurers have raised premiums as much as 80%.
2) You can't afford insurance now. The price is set to rise. How are you going to afford insurance that is now more expensive?
3) If you can't buy insurance, you pay a tax. How is that helpful? How is that going to buy you insurance?
