Have any of you had to actually deal with health insurance companies?
It seems to me that people that have actually dealt with health insurance companies know why it's so important to get health reform.
I've had to deal with health insurance companies almost my entire life for various reasons and that's why I think Obamacare doesn't go far enough, it leaves the health insurance companies in charge.
It feels like everyone is fine with their health insurance until they actually have to deal with them and have a serious medical emergency.

I have dealt with them enough to discover and come to understand my inner axe murderer.

Well yeah that is the point, Obamacare pretty much gave them more money. The little feel good band aid of "preexisting conditions" that dumbasses are trumpeting about means nothing. Before this ruling even came down the measures to subvert it had already been formulated and are in place on the ground in places like Arizona.
This ACA is nothing but political posturing. Nothing has really changed.

Sorry for what you have to go through. But I have never had any problems with my insurance company. I visit my primary care doctor at least twice a year. I visit my dermatologist once a year. I've visited an internal specialist twice last year. All these without any hitch..
Add: Optometrist once a year. Opthalmologist twice two years ago.

Yes, I have had health care insurance since I graduated from high school, and I wouldn't think of being without it. And yes I have had my problems with them. But what is the alternative.

What? I am retired now and worked for 41 years.
Then I dealt with Medicare A, B, D and F. Part D was the most complex decision I have ever had. Took weeks.
Government run stuff is a whole new ball game.
Mr. Government:
War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 47 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the professional poor” and they only want more.
The U.S. Post Service was established in 1775. You have had 236 years to get it right and it is broke.
Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 73 years to get it right and it is broke.
Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 46 years to get it right and they are broke.
Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 41 years to get it right and it is broke.
The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 34 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.
You have FAILED in every “government service” you have shoved
down our throats while overspending our tax dollars
AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM?

Don't you understand, Obama-Care was NOT about Fixing it. It was about DESTROYING it so then we would offer less resistance to the Universal Single-Payer they really want to do.
Think about it, How many people, when they REALLY have to deal with ANY insurance company, do they walk away from it with a happy experience? Be it your Home owners, your Automobile, Hell, even your parent's or grand-parent's Life policy.
You are trying to get them to pasy the claim, they are trying to get away without paying the claim, just collecting the premium.
Perhaps we should stop thinking in terms of "Insurance" is supposed to pay for everything!
Do you ask your Car insurance to pay for oil changes and worn out tires?
Do you ask your home owners to pay for appliance repair?
Do you even know what price is being paid for your medical care? That is the reason it is so high!

I have used my own health insurance. I have no complaints. I also handled claims as an adjuster. In my experience, policy holders have frequently been the big sinners.

YES I DO ALL DAY LONG IT'S MY JOB.
I work in billing in a doctor's office.
I agree, Obamacare is a load of bull. We desperately need health care reform, and Obamacare is NOT it.
Obamacare is the worst possible solution to a problem that desperately needed solving 10 years ago.

If the choice is between Obamacare and nothing, I pick option C.
The primary problem with republicans is that they have nothing better to offer.
The primary problem with democrats is that, having found a terrible solution, they stopped looking for a better one.

Yeah, I was in a horrible accident about 13 years ago. Had to be flown by helicopter to the hospital. I was in a coma, broke my hip, three ribs, etc. I still ended up paying 20,000 dollars...
