The best cage for a teddy bear hamster would be a large cage (long and wide) with lots of tubes for it to crawl through. And don't use a tank because it is bad for them because they will find it hard to breath in the tank. Hope this information is useful. :D

You've got three options. A wire cage, an aquarium, or a DIY bin cage.
Syrian Hamsters are large hamsters, so they need a lot of room. When it comes to wire cages, the ones made for hamsters are MUCH too small, and the tubes that some have would be too small for Syrians. So, you would probably have to buy a cage made for a ferret. Those cost quite a lot of money, though. A lot of times, wire cages at pet stores are flimsy and don't last too long. Good things about wire cages are that they have very good ventilation. That's important for your hamster. The minimum size would be 360 square inches.
Your next option is an aquarium. These are very controversial, though. They don't allow a lot of ventilation. Also, sometimes the ammonia can build up very quickly in a tank, and can harm your hamster. The minimum for a Syrian would be a 20 gallon LONG.
My favorite, and in my opinion, the best choice is a bin cage. They are CRAZY cheap, and are fun to make and personalize. You basically cut out large rectangles around the bin and attach wire to it. I'm not explaining it very well...look it up on youtube or google it. They really are the best! A cool thing to do is make a couple (since they don't cost much) and then connect them using tubes (make sure they are big enough so a full grown Syrian can fit through).
And there you go :) I recommend a bin cage for your "Teddy Bear" Hamster :)

All rodents chew stuff, and your cage will not be an exception. I've had many pets that have escaped too many times to count. The plastic cages, as secure as they may seem, aren't. I recommend getting a metal or glass tank. Also, have some metal chords or something chew-proof to fix any cage problems.

a large cage thats long and wide. No tubes, a hamster house, and some ramps for the hamster to climb on.
