Ball python early scale rot possibly?

Okay, so I bought a baby pastel BP on Wednesday. Yesterday I realized he had mites, so I'm treating him today. Now I've also noticed a small cut looking thing on the last third of his belly. It's maybe half an inch in length. The snake itself I presume is no older than a month. Could this be the start of a scale rot?

Update:

It just appears to be a cut right on his belly, not even a certain scale. It's maybe two millimeters across (how long is that?). I'm just nervous. This is my first time owning a baby BP, and I know they can be a tad more fragile than my adults.

If it just appears as a cut then no, it will usually take up the whole scale on that row and b as wide as the snake and however long. It could b a previous injury. Just watch him and keep him as dry as you can. If it spreads tho I would take him to b looked at if you don't have any baetrol to soak him in.
