Are these men actually sexist or...?

The vast majority of men are not sexist. Women aren't oppressed in the society I live in and unless you live somewhere like the middle east, they probably aren't where you're from either. A joke is a joke, it's funny. Not everything has to have an ulterior motive.

I'm sure your thinking applies to some men somewhere. How could it not- so many different opinions and different men. But it is extremely far from commonplace.

Personally, when I say sexist things its always in jest because I'm eliciting a response from a female. Usually my sister- I find it funny how she gets mock angry. I honestly think that 99% of sexist jokes are said to be funny- and not because the person actually believes it. I think actions speak much louder than words- how he treats the women around him- not necessarily whether he's "nice" to them though since usually if you are sexist you believe women are "weak stupid-but-beautiful playthings that you should be nice to".

Women already have equal rights. That's not even an issue. What some men are threatened by is the legal discrimination against men. Forced quotas in the workplace, severe discrimination in the family courts, title IX, VAWA, etc.

And men should feel threatened by this. When laws are put in place for the sole purpose of discrimination, someone's going to get screwed by it.

I love women, they are just awesome and without them we will be lost.

But most of us guys have some problem with feminists .

Because they degrade men and always try to spread hatred towards us in evey possible way.

I am a man and I am not a abuser ,that's what VAWA is all about.

For feminists all men are abusers and all women are victims.

gender studies is a good source to whine and show our frustations and how bad we have.

So don't mind us.

I'd very much disagree... i'd say sexism is being pretty much stamped out. All that's left in most cases is harmless jokes, hardly anyone actually means it xD it is, as you say, just done for a laugh ^^ often both sides find it funny and jokes are exchanged between both sexes! Of course you do get the occasional fool who thinks they're superior because of their sex, but honestly, noone takes them seriously xD they are seen as the joke ^^

in fact it's a good thing that they make their opinions known, it gives us the chance to stand together and say no, you're wrong ^^ xD

as for the tv adverts, do you mean late-night tv or something? I don't think adverts will become as extreme as you suggest. That's just not necessary..

Children watch tv and there are rules in place so that they don't see things inappropriate like that! Adverts of that sort would only be played very late at night i'd assume, I certainly haven't seen them! xD

In conclusion it is not acceptable to be seriously sexist, that is a very foolish, old-fashioned stance to take and I think most people would agree with this ^^ we are moving forwards, not back :)

LoL women were suppresed so men were always the heros. First off not every society was that way and in america it was not as bad as it is made out to be by feminist. But for about the past 55 years woman have been out in the world equal to men and I still do not see any female heros or great inventors or geniuses. And in societys were no oppresion was present have failed to produce extraordinary woman. So its safe to say the whole female suppresion crap being responsible for the failures of women is just a sham and an excuse.

So are you blaming a women's rights to equality, on the reasons why men are so sexist, because it certainly sounds like you are.

Perhaps only men that are scared of women, are sexist, their 'sense of masculinity' is easily threatened by women who have been granted, nearly but not all the same rights as men. Hmmmm...

I agree, it relatively is discriminatory, yet maximum places in simple terms don't have the gap to place one in. think of the final thought would be to place infant changing centers in the disabled bathroom - if there is one. Disabled loos are in many cases unisex besides. yet, as somebody spoke of, knock on the door of the ladies and ask if it relatively is alright to come again in and alter the infant - very few will merchandise and you'd be surrounded by potential of adoring women - or a minimum of, your son will!

Legal advantages over men are not equal rights. Men are realizing this. Unless you convince your elected officials to scale back some of your advantages, which come at the expense of men and boys, sexism will only become more ingrained.

Most men are not sexist. I think they just like getting people irritated on this website
