How can I keep my motorcycle "alive" when I have to keep it sitting somewhere for a while?
A while meaning about a month. Is just turning the bike on and revving the engine in neutral every day good enough? It's a brand new 2012 Ninja 250, only has like 50 miles on it so far.
Right now I have it sitting in the side yard of the house that gets the least amount of sun, and I have a tarp over it.

You don't need fuel stabiliser or a battery charger. Just cover the bike up and it will be fine next time you start it up. A month is nothing. Don't even bother starting it up.

Stable fuel stabilizer in the tank, battery tender-not a trickle charger but a maintained- cover the bike. I work away from home 3 months at a time and that is how I keep my bike ready to go for when I get home.

A month isn't a long time at all, just cover it up. If you feel compelled to do something in order to keep it "alive", you could always start it every once and a while.

Get a 'battery maintainer', and just warm it up once a week or so.
It should be fine.
With only 50 Mi. on it, keep the 'reving' to a minimum.

A month isn't very long but if you feel compelled to do something run it out of gas, disconnect the battery or buy one of those cheap two amp battery maintainers.

Keep it plugged into a trickle charger. They aren't expensive. Everything else will be ok
