I am considering coming for a short visit in August?

I am considering coming to the Philippines for a short visit in August. I know it is right in the rainy season and I am concerned if there is a high risk of typhoon that could complicate my trip. I woul'd be interested to visit Baguio or Tagaytay: is it ok at this season? Any other suggestions about nice things to see or to do?

Thank you for advices.

No problem just stay out of the low flood prone areas. There are roughly 350,000 of us expats living here year around & we survive.

Be sure to drink only bottled water.

Depends on the path of the typhoon...also how long you have to visit. Tagaytay should be relatively easy to visit; Baguio too unless you are very unlucky. If you are a foodie you might want to make a reservation or go early in the day to Antonio's in Tagaytay which is considered by some to be the best restaurant in the country.

From my experience, Tagaytay is your best bet. I was in Baguio during rainy season. We almost didn't make it back down the mountain road. Lots of holes and one bus was stuck in one. We made it down safely but I don't suggest any mountain road during rainy weather.

Tagaytay is not so bad. the road there is very safe. Manila is very bad during rainy season. Seems like its right in the path of every typhoon.

Better to wait til after rainy season.

J'espere tu me raconterais ton voyage quand tu revient.

    A bientot.

Typhoons hit the PI all year round so as far as travel is concerned it is pretty much pot luck. Floods, you name it -Cebu has been under water in downtown ares for a few months at different times this year. So, as to weather? Take your chances. You have more chance being sunk on an overloaded ferry than being hit by Typhoons. Rainy season brings out the Mosquitoes so take repellant. Apart from that, just go and enjoy yourself. If the weather craps out? It happens mate, it happens !

The only 'short' in a visit to PI should be as in 'short-time'.
