Diabetes and pieriods?
ok so i am 14, and i havnt started my pieriod, and i have like no boobs lol. but its kinda got me worried. i am a type 1 diabetic. and have been since i was 11. all my other friends have already got their periods. my mom got hers when she was like 9. but she also told me her sister (my aunt) didn't get hers till she was 16. but im just worried because i have read about like late puberty, and how it affects diabetes, or something, or like diabetes can affect it. i know they say if you don't get your period by 15 you should visit a doctor. so could there be something wrong?
i am also really tall and skinny. but i like to eat a lot

have a doctor do a blood test, check the numbers on your estrogen level and other hormone levels like progesterone ( I think that is how it is spelled) and also check your ovaries see if they are fine, and your blood sugar levels, and that might tell you something important

Primary amenorrhoea is the absence of menstruation in a woman by the age of 16. As pubertal changes precede the first period, or menarche, women by the age of 14 who still have not reached menarche, plus having no sign of secondary sexual characteristics, such as thelarche or pubarche—thus are without evidence of initiation of puberty—are also considered as having primary amenorrhoea.
Cryptomenorrhea or cryptomenorrhoea, also known as hematocolpos, is a condition where menstruation occurs but is not visible due to an obstruction of the outflow tract. Specifically the endometrium is shed, but a congenital obstruction such as a vaginal septum or on part of the hymen retains the menstrual flow. A patient with cryptomenorrhea will appear to have amenorrhea but will experience cyclic menstrual pain. The condition is surgically correctable.
You should consult a gynecologist.

Its fine, my mom got her at 17 and she's alive. The only bad part is you'll lose your period at a really old age. Usually people will lose their period in their 40's or 30's but you may lose it later. If you truly are worried go to the doctor. That solves everything :)
