What do you folks think? I have a friend that thinks my small box fan is making?
my air conditioner not work right. I think it just needs clean and it's an older machine. So who do you think is right?

It's difficult to imagine how a fan could cause an AC to "not work right".
Only if the fan was blowing air around in such a way as to partially
defeat the effectiveness of the AC would there be any problem.
This seems very unlikely.
If the AC needs to be serviced, then do it.

I don't agree with your friend.
If your air-conditioner is not working right, it's more likely in need of a cleaning than running a box fan.
