How is Jesus Christ a gift?

Update:

A free gift?

Update 2:

A lot of commercials say: we did the work so you don't have to. Jesus was a perfect man. No human could offspring a perfect man; Romans 5:12. That means, Jehovah God created a perfect man-a man that lived perfectly to the mosaic law.

That means we don't have to live perfectly to the mosaic law. We need to exercise faith; John 3:16. Why though? Because, if we want to live in a world without war, crime, poverty disease, we need to accept God's spirit, which provided the sacrifice and the free gift of Jesus christ.

Jehovah’s undeserved kindness in providing his Son as a ransom sacrifice is a priceless gift, and those exercising faith in Jesus Christ’s sacrifice can thereby gain the gift of everlasting life. ; Joh 3:16) God’s “indescribable free gift” evidently includes all the goodness and loving-kindness that God extends to his people through Jesus Christ.—2Co 9:15.Adam’s offspring having inherited sin and imperfection from Adam, are subjected to the same alienation from God, hopelessness, and death that the first human pair experienced. We today are included. (Romans 5:14) However, Jehovah is a God not only of justice and power but also—in fact, primarily—of love. (1 John 4:8, 16) So he takes the initiative to heal the breach. After stating that “the wages sin pays is death,” the Bible goes on to say, “but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.”—Romans 6:23

  • The way I see it, First of all he took the punishment we were all to receive off us. He paid the price demanded of us. Accountability is asked in a court of justice for a crime. And that is fair and right to be Just..

It was a perfect life that sinned and brought us woe only a perfect exchange can bring it back. That would be fair and just. A ransom is something that is paid to provide for the release of someone who is held captive. Jesus paid our ransom to free us from sin and death. He was the only one who could. The price was high.

And it's a gift in even more ways. One that truly never stops giving it's rewards. In fact to many to mention here. In tribulation his gift has shown us what it is to be patient and humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, God will ease the burden. He shows us one can have the strength to endure all. His hope for deliverance from affliction of this world will come in time for all. Many put their faith in that seeing all Jesus went through. "Surely God was with him" some said. A conclusion we can reach by looking at his life and how it has affected us and others.

If we don't accept this gift offered out of love we can't expect to receive it's benefits

Jesus, the identity of a mortal, physical human body was only a physical-tool used by a non-physical, immortal lesser God or higher spiritual being to get out a * Spiritual* Message.

That delivered "spiritual message" was senior to Jesus. Man not grasping-understanding the concept of the spiritual, instead decided to worship and pray to Jesus, which is irrational, because Jesus the identity and mortal, physical human body died over 2,000 years ago. Go figure...

There is a jump in your questioning. You go from free gift is given freely too your acceptance. Although you can reject the holy Spirit this faith is a gift from God.

Lets look at it. "For it is by grace you have been saved".= Grace is Gods undeserved love. It is what Jesus won for us on the cross. It is what makes God look at us a righteous even though we are not yet righteous.

Through faith and this is not of yourselves it is a gift of God. = faith is a gift that God imparts to you. It is not something your doing in your brain when you decide for Jesus or allow God to save you. Justification has everything to do with God and nothing to do with us. God chose us.

Not by works so that no one can boast.=Good works do not justify us before God. However this does not make the ten commandments the ten suggestions. God commands us to do works and true faith will show itself in works. But we should not rely on those works to save us only Jesus. God does not need our works, but our neighbor does.

Faith is not a decision that you make for Jesus but a free gift. We do not accept Jesus but we receive Jesus. The bible says this all the way through. We can say that we accept Jesus if we mean that we do not turn away from him or reject him, but faith in and of itself is a gift from God. It is something God has given you freely and not because of anything you have done or left undone. this gift comes though hearing/reading the gospel and through the sacrament of Holy Baptism.

First define gift.... A gift (to me) i something someone gives willingly to someone else. God gave his son to us, so that we could be made whole. He gave us a chance to live for something greater than sin. So, yes he is a gift to us, but it's up to you whether or not to accept it
