I need help choosing a desktop computer than can handle moderate online gaming. Please help?
Right now, I have a Dell Inspiron 1764 laptop. It's running Windows 7 Home Premium & has an Intel Core i5 CPU (M 430 @2.27 GHz) & 4.00 GB of RAM. (Whatever all that means.) I am by no means computer savvy when it comes to hardware. I don't know what I need or don't need.
I would love to get an Alienware computer, but they're a tad expensive. (And by a tad I mean really freaking expensive.)
I am a moderate online gamer. I like to play Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam & am looking forward to playing The Elder Scrolls online. I used to play World of Warcraft avidly.
The problem is that anytime I use my computer it has to be on a cooling pad. Otherwise, it will overheat & crash. When still under warranty, Dell replaced the hard drive, heat sink, fan, & some other stuff, but nothing worked. They finally said "It's the game [World of Warcraft] that's causing your computer to crash. Not our problem. We won't fix your computer." So I've been stuck with basically a small desktop computer because it's far too inconvenient to lug around the cooling pad with me everywhere.
I would like a computer that I can play games on without it crashing. It doesn't have to be super fancy (like an Alienware model). I don't really care about "amazing HD/3D/whatever graphics".
I need help. :/ (Also, preferably, I would like to not ever own a Dell computer ever again.)
I do not want & will never buy an Apple computer. Ever.

See? I so strongly dislike Apple that my Edit got posted twice. Anyway... I would prefer something under $1000.

Don't even think about Alienware. They are garbage, with a jacked up priced because they have an aesthetically pleasing plastic shell. Ebay is a great place to find nice, non-manufacturer made computers. If you do a quick search of gaming computer, you can find one in your price range (that you should have listed because I could help you find one). For example, immediately I found this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ULTIMATE-AMD-QUAD-CORE-DES...
it is moderately priced, and do what you need to do. The only deal with these kind of computers is that you usually need to pick up a monitor/mouse/keyboard to go with it. A god thing is that you can customize it, and add things depending on your budget a lot of times if you scroll down.
I would recommend doing a self build, but you seem like you just want to buy a pre-made one.
SO,
Here's what you should be looking for in a computer that you buy:
i5/AMD FX: Cheaper than i7, but same gaming performance. Preferably one that has a stock clock of over 3GHz, and has four cores. i5 2500k is incredibly popular, and is about as good as it gets when it comes down to price to game performance.
A good, dedicated graphics card. Now this is where you can play with your budget. The computer listed has a 6670, which is the last generation model of AMD's mid level graphics card. It is popular, and can run most games at moderate settings.

Here is a video showing the cards performance in l4d2.^^ Not bad, if that's all you are looking for. If you are looking to upgrade, may I suggest something such as the NVidia gtx 560.
Next thing is the RAM, which is very cheap and you can upgrade at any time. Make sure you have no less than 4GB, or things will start to slow down. Personally, I recommend 8GB just because you can get 4GB x 2 for like 40 dollars now. Makes things load up a lot quicker, and make your PC seem really speedy.
Everything else is up to you, such as hard drive space, blu-ray drives, optical drives, speakers, peripherals, whatever.
Hope I helped! If you have any questions feel free to message me. I'll answer to the best of my ability.
Here's another I just built.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&...
May seem pricey, but it has everything, like a monitor, Windows 7, mouse/keyboard. And it has a better graphics card :D
But yeah have a nice day.

Get a mid-level tower Gaming PC with at least around a 600 watt power supply and a separate internal Graphics Card (No on-board or integrated video for those kinds of games). Also get as much Ram Memory as you can afford in it too. Faster processors are always good and responsive motherboards, too. But any PC that dares call itself a Gamer's PC should have all that anyway.

I'm making good profit with penny stock. Check here http://trade-pennystock.checkhere.info/
Many new investors are lured to the appeal of a penny stock due to the low price and potential for rapid growth which may be as high as several hundred percent in a few days. Similarly, severe loss can occur and many penny stocks lose all of their value in the long term. Accordingly, the SEC warns that penny stocks are high risk investments and new investors should be aware of the risks involved but you can even make very big money. These risks include limited liquidity, lack of financial reporting, and fraud. A penny stock is a common stock that trades for less than $5 a share. While penny stocks generally are quoted over-the-counter, such as on the OTC Bulletin Board or in the Pink Sheets, they may also trade on securities exchanges, including foreign securities exchanges. In addition, penny stocks include the securities of certain private companies with no active trading market. Although a penny stock is said to be "thinly traded," share volumes traded daily can be in the hundreds of millions for a sub-penny stock. Legitimate information on penny stock companies can be difficult to find and a stock can be easily manipulated.

Overheating is a major problem in gaming desktop computers. If you are moderate online gamer and need less expensive but powerful desktop computers. First you get information about gaming desktop computers. Lets starts
Processor- For gaming a powerful processor need which has highest gaming frames per Second like Intel Core i7 960
RAM- For gaming purpose minimum 4 GB DDR3 RAM need.
Graphics card- This component is most important for any gaming desktop computer. You need a powerful GPU like Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580

First of all, Ka( another answerer) doesn't understand the term "moderate online gaming," PCs are superior in gaming compared to macs. I really wouldn't get an Alienware, strong but way too expensive computers. I need to know your budget, this depends what specs you are willing to pay for. Search through these websites to see if anything interests you.
