starting to get a cold sore on lip, safe to kiss?

i'm starting to get a cold sore on my upper lip, it's just a slight tingle, not an open sore, and i've started using medication on it. would it be safe to kiss my boyfriend when he comes around tonight? or would he get infected by it?

what about oral sex? out of the question?

    Definitely not a good idea. All cold sores are a form of herpes... The oral sex and kissing can definitely wait. Once it goes away and you're confident nothing will go wrong, go for it!
