Am I overweight? Please help!?

I am 13 (very close to being 14). I'm about 5' tall if any taller. I way around 132 pounds. I do have love handles (pfft love handles. Those things make you repel love.) Can I build muscle? (like.. because I herd that the more muscles you have.. the more calories you burn.. so.. yeah..)

I drink good amounts of water... I rarley drink soda.. like... maybe once a month.. not even that much.

Is there any way to curb my cravings? I love chips... and dip... and cupcakes.. and ice cream.. and pickes.. and om nom nom nom nom!!!! :3

You sound like a very responsible kid. Don't ask if you are overweight, ask if you are eating unhealthy. Muscle weighs more than fat so if you have more muscle you can get a way with higher weight. Can you build muscle? yes. Go under sites that have specialists that can help you in each area of your body along with good nutrition. When you get into exercise it takes a lot of those cravings for sugar away. You almost get that high from exercising.(It's a medical fact) now, please keep in mind you are very young and more than that- your hormones are just now surging, possibly you have started your period upon entering puberty. You may gain a few pounds anyway. It's natures way and making your body ready for periods. Don't diet! Just eat right. Once in a great while have a cupcake , ice cream, etc. just don't make it a daily habit. You also don't want to eat too many pickles before a period due to its salt content and you may retain water during this time. You also may be experiencing a growth spurt- thats why you don't 'diet' you just eat right and stay active. And by the way, congrats on the water drinking. I wish someone told me to do that years ago. You are asking questions about your health and thats a good thing, But please, please, please, don't compare yourself to a celebrity or a model!! Some of those people are genetically prone to be thin and some starve themselves and mess up their periods and muscle mass. Good luck kiddo, do it right!
