Why does God allow this?

A coworker's 2 year old daughter was just diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Having a 2 year old daughter myself, it REALLY hit home for me. I couldn't imagine my little girl having to go through that. Then I start thinking, why would God let this happen? I have googled that question and I get answers like "God doesn't have control of what happens on earth..." "Man created disease when he sinned..." "God is just leasing earth to humans...", etc. So my question is, if God has no control on earth, why do we pray to him in times of troubles? I've also heard people say "It's all part of His devine plan." Well if it's part of his plan, and I pray to him, is he gonna change his whole plan, just because I asked him to? This religion thing is confusing...

Will someone please explain to me why God would let that little 2 year old girl get cancer?

Update:

If God CAN help this girl, why doesn't he?

If God WON'T help this girl, why pray (and how is this a LOVING God)?

If God CAN'T help this girl, then he's not all-powerful.

Understand this, People Like the unbelievers who have so far answered look at Suffering from a different perspective, no one is innocent. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23) and are by nature children of wrath (Eph. 2:3). There is none innocent. Though this is biblically accurate, it does not satisfy the question emotionally. Why do little babies suffer for things they have not done? I must acknowledge that I do not know. Ultimately, we must trust God who knows the beginning from the end and sees the grand picture. He will have the final word and He will be vindicated.

    Conclusion

Suffering is the result of human sin. The world is not the way that God created it and because of that, all are vulnerable to the effects of sin in the world. Why does one person suffer and another does not? Why do catastrophes happen to some and not to others? It is because sin is in the world. But there will come a day when the Lord will return and cleanse this world of all sin and all suffering.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away," (Rev. 21:4).

Please tell me if you have any idea who the devil is?

Because God does not give people illnesses. Your automatically blaming God for something the devil did.

We pray to God to get the cancer off the child. Those who decide that God is responsible automatically are deceived and in a place of denial about even wanting to get to know Who God is.

my Mom was given just 6 hrs to live did we ever think or say No God did you put this on my Mom?

No never. Because I know about the devil and all that he does. My church prayed and I prayed and my family prayed and my Mom did not die and the lived another 10 yrs.

You really need to get your facts right and read the bible and see the love that God has for us.

Your ignorance is showing when you believe the lies of the devil.

Jesus even told us that the devil only comes to kill, steal or destroy us. So God is there to turn the sickness away.

Now start praying for that little girl. and I will send this prayer request to our circle of prayer warriors to begin praying as well. we believe that Jesus will heal her.

I pray for your doubt it is ruining your prayers from being answered.

    Proverbs 3:5-6

    New International Version (NIV)

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart

    and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways submit to him,

and he will make your paths straight.[a]

Footnotes:a.Proverbs 3:6 Or will direct your paths

    1 Peter 2:24

    New International Version (NIV)

24 “He (Jesus)himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

  • God doesn't allow it, God creates it. Someone has to learn something serious. Trust this, God isn't a machine that always has to be good. Acknowlegde this spiritual truth and maybe things will get better.

  • I can only answer that with an opinion.

Your co-worker's daughter was put on this earth for a reason. She has no doubt touched countless lives. Perhaps this struggle will bring about strength that was not previously known; unity that was not previously achieved; faith that was previously lacking. I do believe that it all happens for a reason. Trying to figure out why it is happening in the moment is terribly hard. Only after the fact will it all make sense (hopefully).

I can definately understand why you would ask this question. I also hate to see children sick. But you know, God is not controlling what is going on IN THE WORLD, but he does help those who turn to him. 1 John 5:19 says that "the whole WORLD is lying in the power of the WICKED one." The wicked one is obviously Satan. What you have read is correct, he influences the events of the world, just like he influenced Eve to sin in the first place. Because of that original sin, we get sick and we die.

It may seem like God doesnt help, but he does help those who put faith in him. Yes, some people pray, but they may not be answered due to lack of enough faith. Those who actually try to live by his standards set out in the Bible can definately be answered, even more so if they put faith in him. His purpose has been and still is for people to live peacefully and happy, free from sin and death and imperfection, even sickness, in a new world. And he is still working toward that purpose. If you would like to learn more, please respond, I would really like to help you understand more.

When Adam and Eve chose to listen to Satan instead of God, they caused themselves to have the sin nature. We have inherited it and we sin too.

What does this have to do with the little 2 year old having cancer? Well, God had told Adam that if he disobeyed Him, it would cause Adam to die. Satan, being the liar that he is, told Adam that he would not die. Adam disobeyed and did die. Because of this incident, and our continuation of listening to

Satan instead of God, we have to die also.

While I know that the little girl is not accountable for sins, however, she has inherited the sin nature just as we have. Diseases and accidents cause us to die.

This is not God's will or His plan. God has given us Jesus to take our place in death for our sins. Most definitely that little girl will live with Jesus and we can too if we, as accountable adults choose Him, Jesus, the last Adam as our Lord and our Savior.

“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned . . .” (Romans 5:12) Scripture’s indictment: In Adam’s fall, sin gained entrance into humankind. And what are the results? All men are guilty; all are sinners; in Adam we all die! All are under the judgment of God. But God so loved the world that He gave His only Son as a ransom to purchase back what Adam forfeited.

“For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. . . . The first man Adam became a living being, the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven.” (1 Corinthians 15:21–22; 15:45–47).

No one is perfect, no one will not be able to not experience what their neighbor does. things happen for a reason. Maybe someone down the line did something wrong. But cancer in my eyes is man made. He didn't create it. We messed with thing we arent suppose to. And these are the consquences.

God will control what we allow Him to control

We are here to die, and while cancer is a horrible way to go, and St Jude is one of my charities....if she does pass on, she will be with the Lord and she will be saved all the pain life brings us

Disease, is part of what happened when Adam and Eve disobeyed. It's a part of human nature.

GOD has control, as you will see soon. Be patient.

billions of years ago, satan challenged GOD by saying that HIS creation would curse Him, because of all these diseases, and other things. GOD being all knowing, knows who HIS people are and having more faith in us than we do in Him, told satan go ahead. satan's time is almost up now.

Blame satan for the diseases, as he created human nature....

    GOD Bless
