I am a wildlife biologist and I work with endangered species, and have a degree in zoology. The two careers you are describing are two COMPLETELY different things. Majoring in Leadership and Management will have you maybe being a hire up in a non-profit organization like an executive director..or assistant to the executive director, etc. It will have you working in an office, maybe grant writing, fund raising, etc. but you will do little or no "field" work with animals. If that is what you want to do..continue with your current major. If you are talking about working in the field and doing more "hands-on" biological work, like surveying, animal trapping, or actual wildlife management, etc., you would need a major such as biology, zoology, or conservation biology (like you mentioned). If you plan to work for a non-profit..that minor would be useful. But, getting a degree that is more geared towards biology, will qualify you to work for government agencies, universities, zoos, environmental consultant firms, etc...not just non-profits.

If you really want to help the animals and not just be in charge of people, go for conservation biology. Yes, it's going to be really hard, but if you really want it, you'll do it.
