Would spelling mistakes on a website put you off using it?
For example, if it was an online shop would it make you suspicious about the quality of service?

Yes. It immediately makes me think it might be a scam set up from abroad where English is not the first language.

Not only does it put me off, research and your responses show that it puts almost everyone off. Not only does bad spelling have that effect, bad grammar and syntax have the same effect.
There is a whole on-line industry to help people with website design and content. If you are serious about marketing on the web, you should try to get some professional help. It is far less expensive than you might think and makes a significant difference to the returns you enjoy.

Generally yes.
But I've seen spelling mistakes on Amazon so it depends. They could be just typos.
I hate seeing Americanisms and spelling on supposedly UK sites, that puts me off more.
ehow supposedly dot UK, is a prime example.

If they cannot be bothered to get their shop front looking good, then what is the rest of customer service going to be like.
