SHORT QUESTION: Should I be worried?
My boyfriend and I found the PERFECT apartment. It's close to school, affordable, nice interior... There's just one thing.
A man was stabbed to death in the parking lot of these apartments in January. This isn't a common thing here, and it's in a nice place. This has only happened once.
Is it still a bad idea to move there?

HMMM... If you say it just happend once and that is a nice neighborhood (place), then, don't worry about it! Tragedies happen everywhere and clearly in this is the first time...
Plus, is a nice department, affordable and is close to the school.. so do not lose that great opportunity! :)
But, I can warn you about that "ghosts" thing... Just saying. Anyways, you should not be worried! Buy it Buy it Buy it! :D

Do you know the circumstances of the stabbing?
If that murder was connected with a robbery, then I'd look into neighbourhood crime statistics to see just how much crime does go on around there.
And avoid the place if the local cops identify it as a problem area for break ins and muggings.
If it was a random murder with no apparent motive, I'd be a little more cautious.
You don't want to move into some psycho serial killer's hunting ground.
If it was a domestic issue (family feud, lover's quarrel gone wrong, or etc) that was limited to just the participants and victim in that tragedy, then I'd think you have nothing to worry about.
