to the few atheists that remained here..?
Here's a food for though little bite for you, "dear" atheists.
It's been said by a great thinker of the 20th century that lived in Romania (that's eastern europe if you don't know where that is).
It goes like this (i'm translating it for you) : "If God doesn't exist and I believe, I lost nothing. But if God exists indeed, and I don't believe, then I lost everything". N. Iorga
This dude if you want to call it like this, was killed by a faction called "the law makers" that existed in Romania for a brief period, that was doing executions in the name of the "justice". Something like fascists. They descended into homes and used their machine guns, then they leave. This man that was killed like that, from the order of the leader of the "law makers" was one of the enlightened heads of the 19th - 20th century, recognised in Europe.

Your Romanian thinker's attitude was famously put forward by Blaise Pascal. He was a mathematician, physicist, inventor, writer and Catholic philosopher. And his achievements were many.
However, his so-called "wager" isn't considered reasonable by many. His wager was that even though the existence of God cannot be determined through reason, you should behave as though God exists, because then if He does exist you gain after death, and if He doesn't you lose nothing.
The problem with such a wager is that it is purely mathematical and treats the topic as a game of chance. Unfortunately, even then it doesn't take account of the many religions, sects and cults, nor the innumerable gods and goddesses that are and have been believed in. Voltaire is quoted as describing the wager as "indecent and childish... the interest I have to believe a thing is no proof that such a thing exists."
I think you'll find that this is the only one of his many ideas with which he is associated in this section. It doesn't detract from his real accomplishments.
As regards your comment on the action of "the law makers", I don't quite understand the significance.

Okay, where to start...
First, that statement isn't original. It's a paraphrasing of Pascal's Wager.
If you don't know what that is, you literally know zero about theological debate, and are WAY out of your depth on this board.
Iorga was a mixed-up genius who veered from the fringes of Marxism to the fringes of Fascism and back again.
His academic work - particularly history - was not trusted by his peers because he loaded everything he wrote with his own political opinions.
He was a racial-supremacist who hated the jews and invented the idea that the Romanians had always been racially Roman, even before the Romans got there. (dafuq?)
Undeniably a brilliant man, distinguished scholar and statesman... but if he told me it was raining outside, I'd check for myself.
You can't even get your basic facts right.
'... the law makers...descended into homes and used their machine guns...'
Iorga was kidnapped by the Iron Guard, forced into a car, driven into the countryside and shot with pistols.
You want us to accept your argument on huge issues like the existence of God, but the truth is you can't even get the most basic facts right.
EPIC fail.

It goes like this (i'm translating it for you) : "If God doesn't exist and I believe, I lost nothing. But if God exists indeed, and I don't believe, then I lost everything". N. Iorga - Yes Pascal's wager, we atheists know what that is...
And it fails because you CAN'T choose what to believe, if someone tells you a lie, do you choose to believe it or not? Or do you question the likeliness of it and compare it with your understanding of reality?
Also, if God is all knowing, and I pretend to believe...just in case (which is all I could do because I don't believe it and that won't be changed unless evidence is provided) then does God let me in to heaven because I walked around lying (which is a sin by the way) to people saying I'm a believer?...And the most soul (a metephorical one...calm down) destrying thing of all,,,lying to myself.
If God loved me he'd make himself more obvious instead of playing these silly games, any "evidence" that comes up is always the stupidest thing like a near death experience or "I prayed for my car to start" etc..it's pathetic really.

The only way primitive religion exists today is through the child abuse of forcing it into very, very young children but thanks to better education and growing intellects so many teens are able to discover the truth, throw off the indoctrination and step into the real world!
Academia states that in the absence of any sort of evidence of the existence of something it must be deemed not to exist until verifiable evidence is found - thus god is held not to exist pending some sort of verifiable evidence.
The bible is what is called "Faction" A fictional story set in a factual time and place. Thus the time, place and real historical characters are all correct but the fictional characters and stories are not!
There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record - that is right - not one! At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah - all of whom are well recorded!
There is not a single contemporary record from any source and even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!
He was supposed to have been a huge problem to the Romans and produced wonderful miracles but still not one contemporary record?
Even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!
Pilate is recorded in the Roman record as a somewhat lack luster man but no mention of a Jesus, a trial or crucifixion that would surely have been used to make him look brighter!
At best he was an amalgam of those others but almost certainly never existed!
The Roman Emperor Constantine produced the bible and he was a pagan not god! He took the Jewish religion, organized it into Christianity and then into the Holly Roman Catholic Church!! Not in Israel or any of the countries of supposed origin but entirely ITALIAN!
Not one word of it is contemporary with the period and was not written until several hundred years after the period the story is set in!! How did the apostles write their books more than a hundred years after they would have been dead?
What a wonder full disinformation and deception campaign he waged against his Jewish enemies by turning them into his invented Christianity - so good in fact that Christians are still following the deception to this day!
The first person to provide a shred of verifiable evidence for God will become world famous and mega rich! Ain't happened yet and it never will!
So how does this primitive belief in a god survive? The answer is simple and very down to Earth
Acceptance of a supernatural claim tends to promote cooperative social relationships. This communication demonstrates a willingness to accept, without skepticism, the influence of the speaker in a way similar to a child's acceptance of the influence of a parent. By encouraging this kind of behavior where the most intense social relationships occur it facilitates the lack of skepticism and deters more open minded thinking.
They are christian, Muslim or the other religions depending where they were born simply because they were indoctrinated by their parents as very young children. They will go on to indoctrinate their own children and those will go on to indoctrinate their grandchildren!
Atheists have the intellect to see through the conditioning and escape into the real world!
Agnostics have the intellect to see through the conditioning but lack the courage to throw of the conditioning entirely.
Sadly Christians, muslims and others are still held firmly prisoner by the self perpetuating brainwashing!

Pascal's wager is always an epic fail wheeled out by desperate theists!
*Drink* anybody!
Now here's some food for thought for you.
"If the Invisible Pink Unicorn doesn't exist and I believe, I lost nothing. But if the Invisible Pink Unicorn exists indeed, and I don't believe, then I lost everything". Common Sense!
See how stupid and desperate your post is now?

A Pascal by any other language still fails as bad.
What is the point of the entire last paragraph? Does being murdered suddenly mean everything you said was right? Oh wait, look who I'm asking, no wonder you think that!

Unless
You believe in the wrong god of the thousands to choose from, and he spanks you anyway.
Or
You believe in god but then it turns out that there actually is a god, but he rewards critical thinking, logic, and following evidence, instead of mindless faith in the face of the facts, and therefore heaven is actually for atheists. Atheists who are probably really annoyed at being wrong. :)
Or
You believe in the right god but he spanks you anyway because he knows that you only did it because you were hedging your bets instead of any kind of honesty.
Or...
Or...
Or...

Mr. Pascal
Supposedly the abrahamic god is ommniscient and could therefore easily tell whether N. Lorga was authentic in his faith or just trying to bs his way into heaven.
There are supposedly over 10,000 different gods and goddesses, it could be any one of them.

Pascal's wager, no matter how it's dressed up or decorated, is still based on an outright lie; that a god or gods exist.
so, it's easily dismissed.
