What do they look for in transfer students?
When you transfer colleges what transcript do they look at more? I attended 2 different colleges. I went away to college for 2 years and had a 1.6 g.p.a overall. I transferred to a college closer to home for 1 year and got a 3.4 in the fall semester and got a 3.75 last semester which put me on the president's list which gives me a 3.5 overall.

Basically, they are going to check your GPA. Next, they will look at if the courses you have already taken are compatible with the courses you need at their school in order to see if you have lost or gained credits. (For example, if you took "Historical Expeditions" at your old school, and your new school does not offer it or even know what it is, they may inform you that your credit earned in that class will not transfer.) You might want to have some good excuses lined up for those classes that earned you the 1.6 GPA. (For example: You stopped going to school in order to work full-time, but the school never properly dropped you from their rolls.) Just to avoid any surprises, double-check that GPA (it should also be on your transcripts.) Every school is different, so when in doubt, check it out.
