dragon ball z (Kai) Confusingg episodes!?

I recently got back into watching a classic tv show when i was a kid. Now while I'm researching the show for the episodes, i stumbled on some confusing episode list or something. First question, i know there are only 98 episodes of DBZ kai, so would that mean that the episode following it up is in DBZ GT?. But if it is, it doesnt make any sense because I saw the some of the first GT episode and it does not continue from where the last DBZ Kai left off. Second question, I (think) know that dragonball Z and DBZ Kai are the same, then why does the (normal) dragon ball Z episodes go over 200 and Kai only go to 98? Third question, i remember long ago when android 17 (the girl) and Krillin getting married, and the appearance of majin buu and Dabura. But in what series (DBZ Kai?, normal DBZ?, or DBZ GT?) do these events show, and what episode specifically?

thanks for the answers

Update:

also, If DBZ Kai was the remastered version, and more compacted timeline to cut off the fillers in the normal DBZ, then if you may, can you mention some of the fillers in the original DBZ that wasn't shown in DBZ Kai?

for example, mention names of characters and events that was memorable, or that you can remember in the original DBZ that wasn't in DBZ Kai.

GT doesn't really start where DBZ left off, it's quite a bit in the future to my recollection. Theres a time skip. Also Dragon Ball Kai is Dragon Ball Z, you got that right, but they've cut all the filler episodes out and the Majiin Buu saga was cut. I'm pretty disappointed in that, as the Buu saga was actually a quality saga. The reason for this was speculated to be because the Buu saga wasn't part of the manga originally. It was only written so that DBZ could have another season.

Also, I don't know what the guy below me is talking about in regards to Nicktoons. The company that produces DBZ in Japan decided what to make, then the distributors in America decided how much and what from the original gets translated into english (usually all of it). Then they release the Adult/Teen version (The M rated one). The version on Nicktoons is highly edited, and has a lot of the good stuff (ie violence, maybe a few racy jokes) cutout, but they have NOTHING to do with whether or not Buu saga was produced.

Three words: Majin Buu Saga. That's over 100 episodes left out of the Kai series. Buu, Uub, and purple kais are all explained and used more in this saga. Nickelodeon/Nicktoons was so stupid for not putting it in. I was so worried for people such as yourself when they announced GT. Watch the Buu Saga online or something before continuing GT. It'll help.

Source(s): Watched every episode of DBz, DBz Kai, and DB GT ever aired
