Problems regrowing a cactus stem?
So about 4 weeks ago I got this group of 4 cacti in a pot as a house plant. A week ago I had to go on a trip, so I overwatered it and when I came back, one of the four was rotted about 60% of the way. I snipped off the bottom part and threw it away, it was past saving, but the top part still looked good. I heard that you can replant cacti stems and that in a month or so they will grow roots and continue growing, however, a few days later, I noticed that two of the leaves are half mushy. It isn't the same as the rot, they are dark green and really mushy, which lead to the two leaves to droop. Is this normal? Will the cacti be able to regrow? How can I fix these two leaves, and can it spread to the others? Thanks in advance.

firstly the soil must be very sandy or gritty, normal compost or soil is too water retentious, if you cut a piece of leaf off it will root but needs gritty soil and warm preferably bottom heat by being in a propagator.

Your problem may be that you need to dry the stem. Some cacti need to be allowed to dry for up to 2 weeks for the wound to callus otherwise it will rot. Use a mix of 50% peat/potting soil and 50% coarse grit or perlite.
