Isn't Obama's statement to business owners that "you didn't build that" going to mobilize Americans agains him?

What an idiotic statement, it's actually frightening. You make a business? According to Obama "you didn't build that" the government did it for you.

Update:

It's not a gaffe, that's the contempt he actually has for business owners. They're trying to make a false comparison to Romney, but it isn't going to work. Romney didn't say business owners need government and can't do anything on their own.

Update 2:

Obama zombie dawn-What does having a bad boss have anything to do with supporting Marxism? Obama, Stalin, Lenin. They aren't exactly nice bosses.

If someone could come up with any legal business that doesn't rely on the social and physical infrastructure of the country where that business is established, that would help this argument. I can't think of one...even a lemonade stand requires lemons. I suppose if you had your own lemon tree you could start a cash business, but then what would you use for money? What would prevent some other guy from stealing your lemons?

Purposely missing the point, then twisting the words, then repeating the altered story is called 'propaganda', and propaganda is total bull $%^& ! Read on:

I have started a business....believe me, to ge it up and running requires all kinds of help...most of which you have to pay for. That requires financing. That requires a rich relative, or a bank or at least a big bank account. That alone makes the point....banks didn't just appear out of thin air....they're part of the overall infrastructure, an infrastructure that exists because government makes their existence possible.

Most people find out too late that long before the business cuts even, and way more before you can draw a salary the business goes broke. That the stats...you can look it up. Besides the financing the social and physical infrastructure has to exist, and that's the point....no business would ever succeed in the modern world without an existing social and physical infrastructure that can be tapped into. Try running a business without a phone....or electric lights...or these days a computer.

Much of our business success rests on the fact that this is a first world country, and it's a first world country because government helped to develop the social and physical infrastructure we enjoy. I guess that's too big a stretch for folks that listen to FOX and the right wing radio dummies...or for that matter ever started a business. In any event almost all of the mom and pop business' are doomed anyway...this is the era of the trans national corporations....the folks that Mitt works for. He talks about how much he loves 'small business', even as he and his posse drives small business out of business.

Source(s): Too bad there's not a sound bite for a complex problem like this....way too bad!

When you have an akward secertive candidate and nothing positive to offer the American people you live to twist the other candidate's words. Here is the whole quote:

“if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, ‘Well, it must be because I was just so smart.’ There are a lot of smart people out there. ‘It must be because I worked harder than everybody else.’ Let me tell you something, there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

“The point is, that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.”

No, because most intelligent people know what he was saying. He did not say anything about the government building a business for you. He was saying no one succeeds in a vacuum.

It's like asking if the selected Romney quote "I like firing people" would mobilize people, when again, most intelligent people realized the *context* in which he was speaking (getting good health insurance).

Or the selected Romney quote "I'm not concerned about the very poor." Most intelligent people know the context in which he was speaking.

FOX quote miners yes. Meanwhile how often do we see the quotes from Romney about 'enjoying firing people' and his wife not feeling like they are rich? Rarely. I think it's time to let Romney's words speak again.

Well white trash dumbass Conservatives like you don't realize that Romeny gives jobs to India, China, switzerland, and Mexico, and didn't make **** for tax returns. Obama has actually made America way better than it was after Bush ******* ***-raped it 8 times. so um, good sir, go **** yourself!

    Source(s): I'm actually fucking smart!!?

No, because we bothered to find out the entire context of his statement rather than listening to lying right who take a clip and run with it, even if it's a gross lie. You guys don't want facts, you want sound bites.

It was the entire environment, including the government encouraging business, that helped them build their business.

So if you think that's a bad thing, then you are against government encouraging small business and offering them assistance.

Not quite but I understand critical reading isn't a right wing strong suit.

That's not even a good pretend of what Obama said, and by now we've all seen the original speech and just shake our heads at you guys.

No. The press is already letting Obama slide on this one.

    Consider:

" There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect. " -- Ronald Reagan.

    Or the alternative,

" Look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. " -- Barack Obama

I don't know... most people I know WORK for bosses who think that they DID BUILD THE ENTIRE COMPANY and that the workers have nothing to do with it and that we're all lazy sad sacks...

and they basically treat workers like junk... and the good workers leave...

so... I think most people would agree with Obama... and we realize that we are all quite important to business in America...

I don't know why, since what he actually said is true. It wasn't just "business owners" who built America by themselves. (Which is what he said, no matter how much you try to twist it.)
