Arlington is full of people who gave up a lot more than a few bucks for their country. Running out to save a fraction of income just doesn't seen right to me.

Folks are asking for a law that will require this, but nobody so far has explained how it will work or who will pay for it or even who will do the 'checking'. If there was some explanation maybe the idea might get some traction. If I sell my brother a pistol exactly how would he be 'checked'? Any clues?

Increasing the min. wage to $15.00 an hour would only return the buying power of that wage to what it was over 40 years ago. It may be more dollars, but it isn't 'a raise'. In real life ALL Americans who work for wages are now making less in terms of buying power than 40 years ago. Meanwhile the 'investing class' and corporations are making far more BECAUSE of these low wages. Shouldn't that be an issue?

Would a Christian owned retail corporation buy most of the items they sell from Communist China where the government actually does persecute Christians and other faiths, and not only encourages abortion, but has a policy of forced abortion as well? Making money by supporting the Chinese thugocracy by purchasing their mostly slave labor made goods and selling them at a profit doesn't seem particularly 'Christian' to me.

In light of the above does refusing to include various birth control advantages in the company's health insurance plans seem hypocritical?

Ten chain food stores own almost all the grocery stores in America. Will they stand still for cutting food stamps and lose all that income?

Now that we have an optimum sized population could we invite certain individuals from other countries to move here. In the 1950's they called this the 'brain drain' when we encouraged certain educated Europeans to move to the US. We gained and Europe wasn't pleased, but that was the game back then. Would this be in our national interest now?

I'm thinking of one of those heart shaped balloons... there must be a way to figure how many sq. inches are involved and how much gas is required to fill it. Good luck!

I read a lot of 'questions' crabbing about government HEALTH CARE when nobody has ever suggested such a thing. Where do they get this idea?

Are societies too intent on enriching the few and neglecting some moral obligation as expressed in Matthew 25 26-27, or is he promoting some kind of 'communism'?

Matthew 25 45-46 pretty much covers this from the Christian point of view... also from both the Hebrew and Muslim point of view. Feeding the hungry, taking care of the sick, taking in the homeless is an obligation. Oddly, these obligations to help apply to all the poor, the ill and the homeless, even the most undeserving. "What 'ye do unto the least of these, 'ye do also unto Me." I'm not religious, but I'm going to have to agree that Jesus was on to something here.

We seem to be facing a doctor shortage...a federally funded doctor academy system could train up at least as many doctors as military officers. As there's nothing in the Constitution about military academies there shouldn't be a problem with a doctor academy.
