Buying a used car. I want to transfer my plates - is the dealer able to do this?
Is the dealer able to do this without waiting at the DMV ? Someone thought that they have access to do the transfer and registration online. Thank you.

In Florida, the dealer HAS to do this (tag/title/registration work). The guy who said "Nope" may only be referring to certain states. You need to call a local major dealer (not a buy here pay here lot) and ask to speak to an F&I manager and ask the question.

Nope. That's not up to the dealer. IF your state allows you to transfer license plates from one vehicle to another (some states don't) you'll have to take care of the paperwork at the DMV yourself.

No u have to go to the DMV or who ever register your vehicle. they are the only ones that can transfer your plate from your old car to your new one.
