How to use a pizza oven?

I'm going to a villa in Spain and it has an outdoor pizza/bread oven (exact words from website) but i've looked through the pictures of the villa and there isn't one of the oven so what type is it likely to be? and how do i use it. Please can you name a few different types incase is isn;t the first option?

Thanks in advance :)

PS If i have to burn wood, do you think they will provide wood?

There is one main type of Pizza oven. It basically looks kind of like an igloo. You push the wood to the back and sides, where it burns and creates heat, which is retained inside the dome. This will heat the air inside the dome, and also the smooth base of the pizza oven. It will probably look something like this:

You can cook food either directly on the base of the oven, or on this special shovel-handle thing, and you can look through the door to keep an eye on it. That is an italian one, but spanish ones are pretty much the same (just, I couldn't find any clear pictures).

To cook things, you simply put them into the oven. For super hot, you put them closer to the back, for less hot, closer to the front. For example, you would put a pizza somewhere in the middle for a couple of minutes, for bread, you would probably put it a little closer to the front, for a bit longer. You would need to refer to the recipe though (ie. Pizza Oven Bread recipe -> 'put in front of oven for 6-8 mins, then move to back for 1-2 mins'). Depending on the shape of the oven, the back can be a cooler spot, and the middle hotter, it depends on materials used, and the shape of the inside of the oven bit.

I do not expect the villa people to expect you to bring your own wood, this is probably factored into the price in some roundabout way. If you needed wood, you would have to use a google maps search to find a store that sells it, but I think they would have wood there (get it... would wood......... ok... yeah...). Proper ovens use wood as the wood fire will give the food AMAZING flavours, though they might use a gas variation.

We have a recipe book, which has all the stuff in it, so I don't know any good websites, but if you google for 'Pizza Oven recipes' and 'outdoor Pizza/bread oven recipes', I'm sure you would find stuff that fits the requirements.

Source(s): I made one in my back yard a while ago, my fiancee is really into cooking stuff with it at the moment.

Listen friend, Im sorry u cant make a pizza without oven or microwave. But if u r interested u can prepare a recipe, which is a bit closer to a somewhat like a pizza...... If u r interested, u can try this one............ take two eggs, 1/2 cup diced onions, 1/2 cup diced tomatoes,1 small capsicum chopped,1 cup Maida.Salt & pepper according to your choice. Now put the eggs, onions, tomatoes &some salt in the grinder, and make a smooth paste. Then mix it with the Maida. Add the chopped capsicums. the batter should be smooth, a bit gravy-like. If it comes out thick & hard, u may add a little bit of milk to the batter. Now take a large frying pan, better if a non-stick one.Add oil to the pan, when the oil is hot, add the batter to the pan, spread it in circular motion with a spoon(as u spread a dosa). When he back side is complete, cook the upper side also. top it up with tomato sauce or garlic sauce. I know its not a good substitute for pizza, but i didnt want to upset u.

If it is a good villa...no wood needed. Just place the food on the plate thing with the large handle. Then slide the plate so that only the handle is sticking out. You can literally watch the food cook if you are concerned about it.
