Courtroom attire for female attorney's?
I was called in for jury duty a while back. I didn't actually serve on a jury but was there for 1/2 the day. I saw many female attorney's throughout the day and saw a huge range and mix of clothing. I'm wondering if there is any "gold standard" for courtroom attire. I know some of the obvious "no no's" but what is the standard? I saw skirt suits, pant suits, dress separates with blazers and blouses with either skirts or pants. Some had bare legs and some had pantyhose. Some were even wearing flats instead of heels with their pants.
Just curious if it matters what you wear anymore? Everything seems more casual.

In smaller counties it tends to be a little more casual but it also depends on the type of court proceeding. For federal court a suit (skirt or pants) in a conservative color and cut is really the only appropriate choice. In state court criminal jury trial a skirt or pants suit is the best choice with a little more leeway in color. For a judge divorce or custody hearing, slacks and a nice blouse or sweater or a dress would be ok. But it depends on the court and what the judge likes.

I would expect any laywer in the UK to be wearing a skirt suit with nylons and heels (courts), certainly not trousers

All of what you listed sounds appropriate.
Casual would be shorts, t shirts, halter tops, etc.
