There isnt anything wrong with it...
When welfare was reformed in 1995-96... requiring an effort to get off the dole was a smart idea then, and it is now. HHS and Sebelius dont have the constitutional authority to do what they are trying to do..

"Logically, but not in the heated and vitriolic politics created by the attack on welfare, a concern with the relationship of welfare to dependency should have directed attention to the deteriorating conditions of the low-wage labor market. After all, if there were jobs that paid living wages, and if health care and child care were available, a great many women on AFDC would leap at the chance of a better income and a little social respect."

The whole point of welfare is to help people until they can get back on their feet. We want them to eventually get off of it. If we make welfare so easy for people to get, people would rather depend on it rather than get themselves ahead. Trust me, I know plenty of people who would rather stay on welfare than get a pay raise. My sister works for social services and she sees that happen all the time.

How come Republican like to call the unemployed lazy then groan about Obama and the over 8% unemployment rate? If the opportunity were there than I guess unemployment wouldn't be over 8%

It is so typical of liberals to spin. We are not stupid. Obama used his power to rewrite a bill passed by Clinton. That violates the constitution separation of powers.
