I'm 14 years old and I want to lose weight. Serious answers only?

14, 5'0, 88 pounds. I think I'm fat, and people always tell me I'm fat so obviously I'm fat. I eat a lot of sweets but I have sugar intolerance so I get sick afterward. If I cut out the sweets will I lose weight? I work out a lot, too, 2-3 hours a day switching between the treadmill and the elliptical because the elliptical motion gives me a cramp (any ideas on how to make that stop would be nice, too. help?

Omg, seriously, do NOT lose any more weight. Please, don't do it. You're not fat, Infact you're already underweight. I'm 14 too, and I totally get how much pressure there is on us to be skinny, stick-like models. I'm a healthy weight, but I also feel really far at the moment. Just because people call you fat, trust me, it doesn't mean you actually are. They probably mean because you eat so many sweets haha

Because you're sick after eating sweets, that means that you're throwing the sweets back up, I guess, meaning your body will not be able to digest the calories or fat.

Seriously, you realllllyyyy don't need to lose any weight. Just concentrate on the parts of your body you like, remember YOU ARE N-O-T FAT!!

Good luck in being happy for the future though haha x

First off, cut the sweets. As you're young you are at a higher risk for diabetes and other diseases from the over-consumption of sweets. 88 pounds, in my books not "overweight". If you feel you can stand to "Lose" weight the best you can do; given your age would be to just stick to eating healthy (Complex carbohydrates, protein's and minerals. Essential stuff your body needs.) You still have a lot of growing to do, females generally don't stop until they are 21 to 23 years of age.

Cutting off sweets will definitely help, as sugar is a "Simple" carbohydrate, meaning your body will store it more often than utilizing it. Stay away from Trans fats, MSG's etc. Saturated Fats are OK in moderation, avoid sodium and replace sugary drinks with water and milk.

DO NOT over exert yourself on exercise. The elliptical likely feels uncomfortable because you are under developed. As I said, your body is growing and if something doesn't feel good; you stop doing it. A lot of child and teen injuries occur because of over exertion during sporting events and exercise. I've been there myself, you need to take care of your body first.

The treadmill will never hurt though, stick to that and just eat right and you will find your metabolism and body will regulate itself.

Stay active, eat healthy and it will fall into place.

Also, you're likely going to sprout up in height soon, as such a lot of excess fat will distribute out as well, or be burned in that process.

I know its going to take someone more than someone from the internet but

    you. are. not. fat.

88 pounds for your age and height is under weight, and by a fair bit too , you are not fat. If you feel fat at your weight you might consider talking to a counselor about why you feel this despite it being totally untrue.

Do not listen to some of the people above me, you dont need to diet, just eat normal portions of healthy food and you will be fine. Certainly never consider the "puke up the sweets" advice, its unhealthy for so many reasons, but one i can tell you is it can and will destroy your teeth over time

You are a stick. You need to put on some weight. If you lose any more weight, you will have some serious problems. You should be about 110-130, based on your height and depending on your natural body size. 88 pounds is not healthy, and certainly not attractive.

Cut out the sweets but you can still have some as a treat. Also no 14 year old needs that much excersise so don't push yourself. Also balance out meals by portioning. Trust me I'm not fat all I do is sit down be lazy but I always eat healthy and never eat sweets because I dislike sweets and all fatty foods. Just basically portion out meals and don't stress your only 14 :) good luck.

First off you are no where near fat. Your BMI is actually underweight. Try and instead of focusing on being skinny-focus on being healthy. Eat lean proteins, try to get your daily vitamins, and drink plenty of water. Please take care of yourself. Beauty isn't skinny, beauty is self love.
