Why, if I have posted a sign upon my front door indicating that I want no religious solicitations at my home..?
would JW's still insist on cramming their dumb little pamphlets behind my mail box?
I found another one this morning, someone must "think" I need converted, but the worse part is that I can't call them or send them a letter stating that I want taken off the damn list!
Agape, their is no address except for the national headquarters, they list no local phone number or address, I happen to know where the local "temple" is, maybe I should glue something on their door.
BTW, no solicitation is not exclusive to sales and they are trying to sell their particular brand of delusion.

As an old route builder for Carnation milk company back in the days of retail milk sales, I have lots of experience with door to door sales techniques. First rule of thumb for a door to door salesman {and Jehovah's Witnesses included} is; if you come to house with a sign of any kind on the door......" no soliciting, no salesman- I shoot every third one and the second just left, no religious solicitors, etc. any of these type signs to discourage sales people. Well it does just the opposite! If a salesman is worth his salt he'll take that sign to mean "I can't resist the sales pitch or I'm a pushover for a salesman and I can't say 'no'; so stay away.

Assuming they went to your door first and read the sign, I guess they think it only applies to knocking on your door and talking to you.
If I were you, I'd talk to the priest/preacher about that, or leave them a note about how leaving pamphlets on your mailbox is STILL soliciting.
I'd guess they're just ignorant of the law and thought it meant that no knocking on doors or leaving pamphlets on the porch, but that the mailbox was OK.

I do not believe it might be any further rude to position up the sign than it's impolite for strangers to wake you up within the early hours of the morning to proselytize. I have put up indicators and for the most phase they are robust. I'm certain the humans do not wish to be a disturbance and a sign helps to alleviate any talents conflict. What it boils down to is that you have a correct to dictate who you permit in your property and who you chose to speak with.

Oh stop being a baby...you can write and simply ask that you be put on a DO NOT CALL list...make sure you just list the address...if you have a no soliciting sign up that does not apply to them because they are not selling you anything

It's a gift. If you save up enough of them when winter comes, you can use them to fuel your fireplace. Or a bonfire!
Then again, you could always use them to clean up your dog's crap when he goes poo poo in the house.

actually yes, some religious groups ignore those things. but I think it depends on where you live.

They would offend Job Over if they didn't.

Religions are all about wilful ignorance. Why should them "not noticing" your sign be any different?
Source(s): Oh, come on. It's not that bad. Watchtower is seriously hilarious. So long as you stop reading before it gets to telling kids that the Earth is 6000 years old and that texting -texting! - a member of the opposite sex will mark you as a s|ut (if a girl) for ever. Seriously, Yahoo? You filter "s|ut"? -_-
