is it a good idea to dye my hair from black to a lighter brown?
i've been dying my hair black for a out seven years and now i want a different color. i don't want something dramatic, i was just thinking a chocolate brown color. but i know i'm going to have to bleach it and i'm scared because i have a looot of hair. it's really thick, and it's long, about to my elbows. i know bleaching it will damage it but i'm not sure how much.. cuz i would think someone whose dyed their hair as long as i have, would have reallly damaged hair but my hair isn't bad at all. it feels the same as before i ever dyed it. so i'm not sure how much damage the bleach would cause my hair. :O

It's possible, but since your hair is black and you want it lighter, some dye and bleach will work a little, but would put ALOT of damage to your hair.

DONT BLEACH YOUR HAIR. BLEACHING SUCKS SOOOOO MUCH DONKY BALLS. I bleached my hair a few shades later and its so damaged now that i have cowlicks. It.isnt.worth.it. it gets straw like and rough and theres so much breakage its like having hair from the 80's. You know, poofy stick upity layered out to here hair. And its elastic now. Thats not good, i can run my hand over part of it and it will stay that way. Try getting your hair faded. Anytthing. Even if you want, bleach the very tips with hair bleach and live with it for a week. That will be your whole head.

You can get hair colour strippers that don't use bleach, I would reccomend those.
This works really well;
