I was thinking about trading my Mossberg 590a1 for a Wasr 10 AK47, deal or no deal?

I have a used but in excellent condition 590a1 fired to try it out maybe 10 times. I also mounted a 200 lumen flashlight to the mag tube with a momentary cord setup that cost about 80 bucks, also never really used. I think I paid $400 or so plus tax 2.5 years ago for the gun alone.

A guy on backpages is willing to trade what he claims is a never fired Aromanian WASR 10 which had wood but now is all black furniture. It appears from pics he also put a couple of picatinny rails on top rear and forward which I like so as to put a red dot or holographic sight on.

The primary purpose of my shotgun was of course home defense, and thankfully I have never used it. Now whenever I hear a bump in the night, I tend to reach for my pistols instead, so I wonder if they are of greater value to me than the shotgun. My guns are a glock 27 and SA XD9. I also have a hi point 9mm carbine with a red dot set dead on a 25 yards, so there is that home defense option as well.

I also live in a condo currently with neighbors on either side and sometimes above, so again the shotgun's power comes into question. Now of course with neighbors, the pistols may be more problematic than the shotgun chambered with heavy birdshot or the Remington 2x4 mixture currently loaded. And I certainly would not use the AK for home defense.

I feel valuewise I may be getting a good deal, but am I losing the best home defense option I currently have? Thanks for you input.

Money wise, you won't get hurt on the deal. I have a pump 870 that I rarely use. I also have a WASR 1063 that gets used all the time. From a fun perspective, I don't have anything I like better than a pile of cheap steel cased 7.62x39 and my WASR. Not to mention, that douche in Colorado might have stirred up the makings of another assault weapons ban. If you want one in your collection, now might be a good time to get one.

Right here we go again. You're attempting SO rough to do away with this Sig. Right now, with the difficulty being as it is, it possibly a good alternate on the grounds that WASR's and typically all other AK's are pretty highly-priced right now. Alternatively, in six months to a yr...For those who get extra use out of that AK than you did the Sig, then it ordinarily will nonetheless be a just right trade, despite the fact that the Sig is significantly monetarily more pricey. It is your gun; it can be your cash. Do as you're going to.

  • Trading a 590a1 for a wasr is like trading a brand new 2013 Mustang GT for a 1995 Honda civic.

    Horrible idea.

It's pretty close in trade value. The wasr 10 cost about 350-450 in most places.

fair trade. think the AK as a parking lot defense gun. in case someone rolls up and opens fire from the street/parking lot.

AK's are also nice for SHTF home defense, when your neighbors are not around.
