What parts do I need for my computer?

I'm looking to build my own desktop computer. I would like the confidence to play games on high setting like Minecraft, TF2 and Skyrim, but I don't want to send much money. Any tips?

Playing a game like Minecraft on all high settings requires a moderate amount of money to be spent, while a game like skyrim would require a higher end PC. I know of a website that offers a vast amount of gaming PC options, some even customizable for your own price range, you can choose the graphics card, processor, cooling system etc. It's ---> http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/category/configurator/

Just click on configurators, then choose a pc in your price range and customize it from there

2 choices, AMD or Intel (Intel is for some reason more popular)

    AMD:

Processor: Phenom II X4 or higher

Motherboard: Has to be AMD Chipsets (look at specs)

    Intel:

    Processor: i5 or Higher

Motherboard: Has to be intel Chipsets (look at specs)

    Parts either needs to have:

Power Supply: I recommend 500Watts or higher

    RAM: 8GB DDR3 RAM

Hard Drive: Get any SSD or HDD hard drive

Optical Drive: get any DVD or Blu Ray drive

    Graphics Card (2 choices again)

    Radeon: 6800 series or higher

    Nvidia: 500 series or higher

This will probably be in about $500 - $800 ish range. Havnt looked up prices but it will be a good computer. If you pirate windows, you will save $100 ish.

Look on Newegg.com for the parts and they have good prices

  • You'll want something along these lines -

If you want to go with Intel -

    Core i5 2500k or 3570k

Z68 or Z77 motherboard, full ATX

If you want to go with AMD -

6 Core Phenom or A-series processor

    AM3 or AM3+ motherboard

With either processor and board -

    8GB DDR3/1600

ATX mid or full tower with plenty of cooling

GeForce 560Ti or better, or ATI 6850 or better, with 1GB. Always a faster GPU if you can afford it.

500 watt or more PSU from a reputable name brand

    WiFi adapter if needed
