Good animes with a kind of corrupt main character (like death note)?

Might be a strange request but I really enjoyed death note, the way Light hid his secrets and the way you could see his corruption over time. I guess I'd like an anime where the main guy isn't necessarily a good guy, or where it's down to opinion whether they're good or not. I've started watching monster which is good, maybe not as intricate as I had hoped but I am only on the 9th episode. Anyway, any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks :D

Update:

Oh, or an anime with a similar art style to death note :D

    Try these anime:

    - Code Geass (highly recommended)

On August 10th of the year 2010 the Holy Empire of Britannia began a campaign of conquest, its sights set on Japan. Operations were completed in one month thanks to Britannia's deployment of new mobile humanoid armor vehicles dubbed Knightmare Frames. Japan's rights and identity were stripped away, the once proud nation now referred to as Area 11. Its citizens, Elevens, are forced to scratch out a living while the Britannian aristocracy lives comfortably within their settlements. Pockets of resistance appear throughout Area 11, working towards independence for Japan. Lelouch, an exiled Imperial Prince of Britannia posing as a student, finds himself in the heart of the ongoing conflict for the island nation. Through a chance meeting with a mysterious girl named C.C., Lelouch gains his Geass, the power of the king. Now endowed with absolute dominance over any person, Lelouch may finally realize his goal of bringing down Britannia from within!

    - Kuroshitsuji

In Victorian-era Europe, a young boy loses everything he once held near and dear to a vicious plot. In his moment of death, he strikes a deal with a demon: his soul, in exchange for revenge. Ciel Phantomhive is now the head of the Phantomhive corporation, handling all business affairs as well as the underground work for the Queen of England. His new partner is a demon butler, Sebastian Michaelis, whose powers as a butler is only surpassed by his strength as a demon. The story follows the two along with their other servants, as they work to unravel the plot behind Ciel's parents' murder, and the horrendous tragedies that befell Ciel in the month directly after.

    - Hellsing (and Hellsing Ultimate)

Hellsing follows the antiheroic vampire, Alucard, and a police girl-turned-vampire, Seras Victoria, two vampires employed by the vampire-extermination group of England, the Hellsing Organization. Slowly but surely, through their active duty, they find a new breed of vampires beginning to arise.

    - Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom

Mafia is rife in America where assassinations are a regular occurrence on the streets. Inferno, a mysterious company, is behind most of these dealings through the use of their near-invincible human weapon, "Phantom." One day, a Japanese tourist accidentally witnesses Phantom’s latest murder. Desperate to escape, the tourist hides in a secluded building. However, Phantom, revealed to be a young woman named Ein, and the leader of Inferno ‘Scythe Master’ captures the tourist and brainwashes him. Given the name ’Zwei’, this once peaceful tourist is now a puppet of Inferno with no memories. Drawn into a world of lies, deceit, and violence, Zwei must fight to survive, hopefully to one day regain his memories and escape from this world where he is constantly on the brink of death.

    - Higurashi no Naka ni

After moving into the quiet town of Hinamizawa, Maebara Keiichi spends his days blissfully in school often playing games with his local friends. However, appearances can be deceiving. One fateful day, Keiichi stumbles upon news of a murder that had occurred in Hinamizawa. From this point on, horrific events unfold in front of Keiichi, as he soon learns his close friends may not be all that they seem. Based on the amateur mystery game by 07th Expansion, the story is told in a series of different scenarios.

    - Mirai Nikki

Middle school 2nd year, Amano Yukiteru, is a boy who has problem making friends. He thinks of himself as a bystander and will always write down everything he sees in a cell phone diary. Tormented by solitude, Yukiteru began to imagine things like a friend called Deus Ex Machina who is apparently the Lord of Time & Space. Seeing Yukiteru's miserable state, Deus gives him a new ability. His diary will now record events that will happen in the near future. Yukiteru is then forced to participate in a game whose winner will become Deus' successor.

    Hope this helps!

    1. Would you may have picked up the death observe and tried it out to look if it was correctly real? Sure, most effective to peer if it fairly worked. I wouldn't consider it worked except i attempted it out. 2. Would you've got tried to cleanse the world of evil? I am not relatively definite. I do not think in killing men and women, even if they may be evil. If I murdered a killer I believe i might be just as bad as them however I don't want evil men and women in the world. 3. Do you think you could possibly have come to be corrupted with vigor as mild did? I do not consider i might since i'd most effective use it once to test it out. Four. Do you consider gentle was correct in what he did/used to be looking to achieve? Nope, i am now not a gentle supporter. D: Who used to be he to guage a individual and make a decision whether they lived or not? 5. And eventually have been you cheering for mild to attain his intention in ‘the brand new world’ No, i'm blissful that he was brought down however I wish L had been there to do it. I suppose the same approach you do about dying word. I loved it! It can be my favourite anime/manga ever.

The closest I could think of that would be related to Light Yagami is:

    Lelouch from Code Geass

If your interested in things like the main protagonist becoming twisted at some point of the series then you might also like:

    Guilty Crown

    Swort Art Online (new series)

    Shikki

    You'll LOVE SHIKKI!!

You can't put either of them on the good or bad side bc either way you look at it both are trying to just survive.

And the characters get really corrupted

    Omg that show is GREAT!!!!!!
