Do liberals hate the movie "V for Vendetta"?

I only ask this because it's clearly all about libertarianism, anarchy and diminishing government. The filmmaker clearly wanted to make the point that people should have more power than their government. Although I consider myself to be a libertarian, I was slightly confused when I watched this with my liberal friends. They all seemed to love it, yet in our conversations, they are so adamant about how government is good and supportive. The movie goes against all of those principles, so I'm asking do liberals hate this movie or did the ones who enjoy it just not understand it? And no, I'm not saying that you can't like a movie because you are on one particular end of the political spectrum, but let's be honest - this movie was about politics.

Update:

I don't agree with everything Republicans do...hence why I said I'm a libertarian. I think people should be able to get abortions if they want, be able to smoke weed if they want and not be affiliated with any type of religion if they don't wish to be. In other words, if you want to f*ck up your own life without government interference, that should be 100% your right. I just am not big on governmental control.

It was written by Alan Moore in the 80s and it was about Britain under the government of Margaret thatcher which he likened to hitlers Germany, he disliked it being made into a film as it was very much of its time, the mask was based on guy Fawkes who tried to blow up parliament in the 1600s and has been adopted by anonymous recently

People never want to admit that their own government is bad. Most people can watch a movie like V and hate everything about the bad guys. Then when they are reminded that their own government is doing nearly all of the same things, they either ignore the facts or justify them. I would also like to point out that Libertarian-ism is much more complex than just being a conservative who wants to smoke pot. We are talking about an in depth and complex political belief structure promoting individual liberty. Authoritarianism and Statism are always the enemy.

Liberal often means collective thinking, it's a film about the people rising out, enforcing the will of the people, if you notice the govenment in the film it's a very extreme far right party that is being opposed.

    It's a liberal movie.

You're not a conservative, if you're a real libertarian. Merely wanting to smoke pot, while you agree with everything Republicans do, doesn't make you a libertarian.

those are quite a few an identical people who think of they comprehend what God thinks or needs. this is rather straight forward to apply that exact same prepare on Liberals, once you think of approximately it. yet they do no longer particularly believe that, that's why they get so indignant while challenged. as quickly as I examine fees like "Liberals hate the U.S.", to me it interprets as "i'm an fool and could say something to win an argument i comprehend no longer something approximately, and that i should not be taken heavily via anybody." in certainty, anybody that makes use of the words you have stated could have that as a disclaimer on their posts.
