Ethernet cable shutting down facebook?

So my laptop can access Facebook from Wi Fi, but when I plug in an ethernet cable, I'm not allowed to access the Facebook website or any of its pages. It just tells me to

1. Reload the page later.

2. Check your connection settings.

3. Go to settings/advanced settings/LAN settings/auto detect proxy/

Why is it doing this? Is there a way to change this?

Update:

Nope, it's a 192.xxx.xxx IP. And that box was checked many months ago. The facebook thing only started happening like a week or two ago.

I think you are getting a JUNK IP when you connect the device through an Ethernet cable. To check the IP that your modem/router is getting connect it to the computer with an Ethernet cable and,

    >Open RUN (Ctrl+R) program and type cmd to open a command prompt screen.

    >Type in 'ipconfig' and check for "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection".

    >Below that find 'Default Gateway' and if its getting any IP starting from 169.x.x.x then you have to reset the modem/router and have to reconfigure.

    >If you getting a valid IP (Eg: 192.168.1.1) then got to Control Panel>Internet Options>Connections>LAN settings>Check Automatically detect settings>Restart the computer.

And once this is been done it will work...!!

Only Facebook page is not opening or any webpage??
