Can a light gray cardigan go with dark rinse jeans? What to add to outfit?

The cardigan is light gray, hip length, and crinkly. The jeans are boot-leg and very dark blue. What color top to wear under the cardigan? Can I wear black shoes?

Black shoes would be fine! I think a nice bright top would be nice, like a pink or yellow! Even a green or turquoise would be nice (:
