Jacob represents the nation Israel. "Jacob's Trouble" refers the the nations woes until the second coming Jesus Christ.

Perhaps the passages were written by different authors.

Documentary Hypothesis This hypothesis, sometimes erronenously called the Wellhausen Hypothesis, holds that the writings of the Pentateuch derive from four sources, the Yahwist (J), a southern source that provides the main narrative outline of the Pentateuch, the Elohist (E), a northern source, later than J, that supplements J, D, the core material in the Book of Deuteronomy, and the Priestly Writer, who composed a long legal commentary on JE in Genesis, Exodus, and Numbers, as well as the whole of Leviticus. P dates to the time of the Exile (597/586-539 BCE). The contribution of Wellhausen was to order these sources chronologically as JEDP.

ok if this is true, i thought it was Abraham that was called Israel.

that said, it could be agreable that jacob also is Israel.

just because there is a grammar mistake, doesnt make the covenant of Israel, any less accountable.

jesus made a rebuke against people that make man an offense for a word.

this is what you are doing right here.

i agree the bible is not preserved perfectly without errors. but there is a prophecy that says there shall not be lost one jot or tittle in the words of God. that said, to be sure there are no jots or tittles in the English language as far as biblical preservation is concerned. regardless of not having jots or tittles, it doesnt make the english language scripture a mythology. it just means the translators chose to do things in the english language that only men of high education would find out. just because some bastardized atheist comes across a few exposed secrets does not make him an authority on any religion, nor does it make them revelators of truth. true elders follow faith, and miracles follow them. they expose evil and the works of darkness, and this is a work of darkness.

Jacob had an anxiety attack about fulfilling God's command, so God sent an angel to persuade him. During the encounter, Jacob and the angel got into a wrestling match, so God gave Jacob a new name - Israel - meaning "He who wrestles with God".

I under no circumstances call him dogs, even nevertheless he's surely stressful in specific circumstances. yet another think of roughly him... i could like him so lots greater helpful if he could purely carry on with being Bella's chum. I pass over the Jake from Twilight and the start of latest Moon =[
