Would it be considered a conflict of interest?

If a husband and wife work for the same school system if the wife were the special education coordinator and the husband were the principal? The wife is not going to go against her husband if he does not agree to something the student needs.

Update:

Yes they share the same last name. The wife is not going to go against the husband if he does not agree to something the child needs. What can be done about this?

Update 2:

Oh trust me, there will be conflict. I dealt with him when he was vice principal, and he was no longer to have any saying about my child. It was then the principal took over her 504 plan.

Update 3:

But he is now the new principal!

Update 4:

That's the problem, they don't have the same interest in the child. one would help and the other will not. He has the final say and she wont go against him.

It's not a conflict of interest as both parties have the same interest in mind - the welfare of the child. It's generally not considered appropriate, but it's not considered a conflict of interest.

Do they share the same last name? I know of a private ivy league principal who is dating the head of athletics department of the same school were they work.

I don't think it should be an issue, unless the board of education says something to the both of you.
