as long as you aren't doing live plants any light would be fine, and the double bright led fixture would be great because it has decent color spectrum and more intensity than the single bright light.

note: you won't be doing live plants with africans I assume. If you do a live planted tank, then this light will not be quite intense enough for a deep tank like yours.

How is your gentle set up on your tank? Is it quickly on properly suited like a lid like maximum tanks? you will possibly desire to look into lights furniture that are in contrast to lids and are hung above the tank. They hook up with the back so as that the gentle is above the tank lights it up, particularly than quickly hitting the water. this might enable some air to get in there and the gentle in simple terms isn't quickly on the animals. yet pay attention, I genuinely have those lights furniture and that i've got had 2 clown fish bounce out. they look those that choose to flee..

Either or... I have the single bright on a 29 gallon with white/black gravel-sand and shows very nice. You have to remember that a 55 gallon is deeper and depending on your gravel, you make the decision.
